I was in my element with the 80’s power jacket. I love structured, tailored garments like this and I couldn’t wait to start. I spotted the fabric I was going to use straight away, and I ran to grab it. The fabric had to be able to hold its shape and press well. This fabric was perfect and as I was wearing an orange shirt this week, maybe it was a good omen that I chose an orange fabric.

For once, I didn’t struggle with anything in this challenge, I had made jackets before and that experience helped. When it came to choosing a button, I didn’t let Joe choose it this time, I did, and went for a large diamante button which set the jacket off perfectly and reflected the extravagance of the era.

This was a great start to 80’s week, I was hoping I could keep the momentum going!
