It was exciting to walk into the sewing room, with the haberdashery discarded and replaced with scrap. I immediately grabbed a PVC outfit that I saw on a mannequin, still not knowing what exactly I was going to do with it! My mind went to the 1960’s sci-fi film Barbarella, and thought I would make some kind of kinky PVC number. The sewing machine, which is tempermental anyway, really didn’t like the PVC, and I really had to pull it through the machine. I used the hooks from the scrap heap to join the back and the sides, but that was all, and I think that that was my downfall, I should have used some more scrap. I was quite pleased with the result, but Clare’s was out of this world amazing!
